Sengoku: Blazing Katana Patch Notes
05/30/2023

Unit Update

Ronin (3 Stars)

The Ronin are fast and can launch lethal strikes while drawing and sheathing their blades. They can also quickly reset their cooldowns to attack with plenty of Iaido Strikes.

Onna-Musha (4 Stars)

These female warriors wield long weapons with deadly grace. Rather than striding into battle, they flow seamlessly from enemy to enemy, each graceful arc of their blades rending flesh and claiming lives. Beneath their elegance belies a lethality that few can match.

Orochi Samurai (5 Stars)

These warriors wear crimson armor and wield mighty weapons. Under the Sanada clan's leadership, they've fought many a battle and earned great acclaim. They're especially known for their ability to strike down enemies five steps within reach at lightning speed.

Naginata Monks (3 Stars)

Following years of war and chaos, many of the temples formed forces of their own to protect their faith. The most famous of these are the Naginata Monks. This intense training made them capable of wielding heavier weapons than others, weapons with which they could cut down horses and warriors alike.

Mace Sergeants (3 Stars)

Each member of the Mace Sergeants possesses outstanding fighting skills and a sense of honor. Wielding massive mauls, they draw close to enemies and crush bone and armor alike. But they have not forgotten their roots, and adhere to the code of chivalry to this day.

Matchlock Ashigsaru (4 Stars)

While they fight with firearms rather than follow the way of the sword, the Matchlock Ashigsaru are an elite force to be reckoned with. Their great achievements cemented their name in history.

Unit Mastery

Overview

Unit mastery is a brand-new unit growth system available alongside what's already there. A unit's mastery gradually unlocks as you level it up, enabling you to increase its attributes and alter its skills or mechanics.

           First Units to Receive Mastery:

          Pike Militia

          Prefecture Guards

          Mace Sergeants

          Palace Guards

          Halberdier Sergeants

Mastery

           Access

You'll be able to access [Mastery] while checking the details of [unit].

You can use the filter in the bottom right of the Barracks to quickly see which units mastery is available for.

          Mastery unlocks at level 36.

           Infantry Scroll of Mastery

Item required to unlock the mastery of infantry units. They come in uncommon and rare quality.

You'll be able to earn these from the all-new PvE mode [Latent Potential], buy them from the [Honor Shop] and from limited-time events.

           Mastery Nodes

Leveling up a unit unlocks more mastery levels as well.

Tutorial

We've updated the tutorial, meaning that players who join after the Sengoku season goes live get to experience different tutorials.

           Veteran Players

Nothing will change in terms of the tutorial for characters created before the Sengoku season. They'll still have access to the Hero's Path.

They'll also be able to purchase the Mace Sergeants from the Honor Shop.

           New Players (Sengoku Season)

Characters created after the Sengoku season goes live will no longer have access to the Hero's Path.

They'll instead be able to complete new main and side quests (including a new tutorial map and overall tutorial).

They'll also be able to access the new Journey Manual, which includes Login Gift, Instructor Challenges and Instructor's Gift.

By logging in each day, they'll be able to earn all Login Gift rewards.

Completing the Instructor Challenges quests, you'll gain Instructor's Gift progress and earn rewards.

New characters will no longer get to choose a unit but will unlock the Mace Sergeants by completing the new main quests. Both veteran and new players will in effect unlock the same number of units of an identical rarity throughout the old and new tutorials.

           Unification Changes

We're removing the Leveling & Growth Gift Assistance, Top-Ups and Auctioneer Login Pack with the Sengoku season.

We're removing the Mercenary Envoy's quest granting a 4-star unit with the Sengoku season.
